If anyone in this, didn't know till now, Idea Cellular's ringtone originally belongs to Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. It's a duet song from a Kannada movie called Pallavi Anupallavi. Song name - Naguva Nayana. Director - Mani Ratnam.

Adi: you forgot Metallica’s Unforgiven and Thermal Underwear. Also, that’s the Idea Cellular ringtone, not the Balaji Telefilms ringtone. Secondly, since it is their own ringtone, it can promote Idea cellular. There was a time when every second phone had an Airtel ringtone, though I’m not sure if it was free or paid.
About DRM…don’t you know? It’s on its way out…Globally, at least.

shefaly,
"And in the interest of cultural anthropology, MTV’s role in youth culture now, 10 years ago and 20 years ago is not be ignored."

i imagine that it is a diminishing role. would that be the right conclusion to draw?
cheers

Nikhil, I re-read this post and realised that your writing "The phrase ‘I Want’ always reminds me of that fun, freaky, Videocon Mangta Hain show on MTV some ten years ago" really underscores - for me - how difference in age means similar phrases mean different things to people.

To me, "I want.." always, always must be completed in a falsetto, singing the words "I want my, I want my MTV". Which by the way was Sting collaborating for fun with Dire Straits.

And in the interest of cultural anthropology, MTV's role in youth culture now, 10 years ago and 20 years ago is not be ignored.
